Healthy sleep – your most important source of energy

Sleep isn't a luxury; it's the phase in which your body repairs itself, your brain processes information, and your nervous system calms down. Those who sleep well are more focused, emotionally balanced, and productive during the day—whether at work, during exercise, or in their daily family life. Too little or poor-quality sleep, on the other hand, quickly leads to irritability, cravings, reduced motivation, and, in the long run, even a weakened immune system.

Why sleep is so important

Sleep is the phase in which your body repairs itself, your brain processes information, and your nervous system calms down. Those who sleep well are more focused, emotionally stable, and productive during the day. Too little sleep makes you irritable, hungry, and unable to concentrate – and weakens your immune system in the long run.

Rhythm instead of chance

The body thrives on routine. Consistent sleep and wake times help your internal clock to reliably feel tired. Sleeping in late on weekends disrupts this rhythm – it's better to go to bed at roughly the same time every day.

Preparing for sleep in the evening

Sleep begins before bedtime. Less screen light, dimmed lighting, fresh air, and a quiet bedroom signal: Time to wind down. Eating heavy meals too late, alcohol, or constant scrolling can also disrupt sleep.

calm the nervous system

Those who are "on" all day often find it difficult to "switch off" in the evening. Short routines can help: 5 minutes of breathing exercises, gentle stretching, a body scan, or a relaxation audio. This lowers stress levels and makes falling asleep easier.
